Your community group could be eligible for up to $20,000 of funding for small capital projects as part of the fourth round of Stronger Community Grants. $150,000 will be made available for community groups in Hotham for projects that improve community participation and contribute to the vibrancy and viability of local communities.
Grants of between $2,500 and $20,000 for small capital projects are available to incorporated non-profit community groups with an Australian Business Number (ABN). Trustees on behalf of a property trust with responsibility for a community asset are also eligible. Projects require matched contributions in cash or in kind, and should schedule to complete the project by 30th June 2020. You cannot commence the project until the Department provides formal approval of a grant.
Examples of potentially eligible projects that organisations may wish to consider seeking funding for include:
- Upgrades or fit-outs of community or multicultural centres
- Sporting Facilities upgrades
- Purchases of equipment for a local SES
A Community Consultation Committee will consider the project proposals and selected projects will be put to a public vote on this website between 10th September and 20th September. We will then be in touch with successful community groups to make an official application to the Department by 11th October.
